Former Florida Gators football star Percy Harvin recently inked a five year deal with the Minnesota Vikings.
Harvin showed up to practice Sunday afternoon and strapped up the cleats for his first real workout with the Vikings. Most reports are that Harvin was extremely impressive today.
"He's playing big, he's playing fast, making turns like on the drop of a dime," tight end Visanthe Shiancoe said, "and he's catching everything."
From what I've heard, Harvin should see the field a lot as a rookie and the Vikings have specifically tried to add around 15 plays designed specifically for Harvin in the offseason.
It sure is going to be fun to watch how Harvin's skill set translates to the next level. After a shaky period in between his final college football season and the beginning of his NFL career, hopefully Harvin can stay on track and help the Vikings' offense this season.
With Adrian Peterson in the backfield, Harvin should have plenty of help offensively and he likely won't face nearly as many double teams as he did during his career at Florida.
I can't wait to see him hit the field this fall, and I'll certainly have my fingers crossed hoping that Harvin can break the NFL wide receiver curse that seems to hover over Florida Gators entering the league.
