The Florida Gators football team reports for fall practice today and will hit the field under the supervision of the coaches for the first time since the spring starting tomorrow morning.
In the past, the Gators have made the first week of practices open to the public. This year, however, only the first two practices will be open to the general public.
If you're in town and interested in catching a glimpse of the Gators before they take the field against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on September 5th, you'll have to visit the practice complex on August 6th or August 7th.
The returning players will hit the field bright and early tomorrow morning, taking to the practice field from 6:10-8:00 AM. The freshman will take the field later tomorrow evening, running a session from 5:10-6:30 PM.
The returning players will take the field at the same time Friday morning, and then the freshman will practice from 4:35-6:00 PM.
The rest of the Gators' practice sessions will be closed to the public and to the media, leading up to the start of the 2009 football season.
If you missed it yesterday, the Gators will have WR Riley Cooper back for his senior season.
Also, the Gators have a couple of preseason accolades worth mentioning, as RB Jeff Demps was named to the Doak Walker watch list, and Tim Tebow was named to the O'Brien watch list.
I'll be back tomorrow for some quick hits from the first practice sessions, and as always, if there's any breaking news on the Florida Gators, you can find it here.
